Donald Kennedy papers

Scope and Contents

Collection includes diaries, codes and a sketch relating to Kennedy's role as a coastwatcher during the Second World War. The papers were received in an old suitcase which has been retained as part of the collection. The suitcase has Japanese characters on the lid which read Made in 1941, Electrically Heated Flight Suit. The collection has yet to be fully processed.

Dorothy C. Jelicich papers.

The Jelicich collection of papers relates to the Industrial Relations Act 1973. Mrs Jelicich was a member of the Labour committee which heard evidence on the Industrial Relations Bill. The papers include submissions from unions, employers' organisations, private individuals, confidential reports from the Dept. of Labour, and miscellaneous notes.

Dorothy Morton letters from Ida Eise.

Scope and Contents The collection contains letters from Ida Eise, an Auckland painter who taught at Elam School of Art and was a prominent member of the Auckland Society of Arts along with fellow artist Dorothy Morton. Eise was strongly influenced by the ideas of John Weeks (1888-1965), painter and art teacher, much of whose work was destroyed in a fire at Elam School of Art in 1949. Dorothy Stocker diaries.

Scope and Contents

Collection comprises two diaries kept by Dorothy Stocker (nee Bartrum) between 1902 and 1960. The brief but concise entries describe the work of the author as a missionary in Northern China during the 1920s and 30s and visits 'home' to England and New Zealand. Note that the entries in the earlier diary are intermittent and do not run through the diary in any logical arrangement.
