Scope and Contents The collection contains letters from Ida Eise, an Auckland painter who taught at Elam School of Art and was a prominent member of the Auckland Society of Arts along with fellow artist Dorothy Morton. Eise was strongly influenced by the ideas of John Weeks (1888-1965), painter and art teacher, much of whose work was destroyed in a fire at Elam School of Art in 1949.
