Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

When these papers were received by the library some of the material was housed in manila folders and some material was received loose. In some instances it was difficult to decide which material related directly to the CPNZ, but an attempt has been made to distinguish between general notes (see below) and those concerning CPNZ matters.

The material here has been arranged into rough chronological order without breaking up the existing folders; which include letters, clippings, circulars, leaflets, etc.

The papers dating from the period 1973-1976 are concerned essentially with one topic, McAra's dispute with the Party and the eventual expulsion of McAra and Wilsie.

At the end of the sequence are papers relating to National and Branch study programmes on Marxist theory, files concerning the Communist Review, and some miscellaneous items.
