Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a visual record of the shows held at the George Fraser Gallery from the late 1980s through to the early 2000s. It also contains files of artists' work; not all artists represented went on to exhibit at the Gallery, but the files were retained as part of the gallery records.

In addition to the images, the collection includes some examples of exhibition applications and published ephemera used to promote and supplement the shows.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of papers and published works relating to Jonathan Mane-Wheoki's teaching and curatorial activities, and is divided into two main series: ‘Teaching material and subject files’ and ‘Festivals and events’. Teaching notes feature largely in the first series; the thematic files being created and added to throughout his career. The Snaps Gallery records consist of correspondence, press cuttings, exhibition posters and ephemera, and administrative documents relating to the gallery’s events and activities between 1969 and 1981.
