This collection represents the research material amassed by Leo King relating to Minnie Francis White (1891-1984), Robert Field Procter (1879-1984) and Betty Beadle (1924-2002).

General
Robert Field Procter (1879-1931), born in Scotland arrived in New Zealand as a boy in 1887. Procter later studied under the tutelage of Petrus Van der Velden and entered the Canterbury School of Art in 1896. From 1915 to 1921 Procter taught at Elam School of Fine art as an instructor, under the directorship of Edward Payton.
