Photo-album with pictures of New Zealand at the beginning of the 20th-century, showing landscapes and the customs and costumes of the Ma¯ori people. It is a presentation album to Rear-Admiral A. F. Beal, with compliments of Richard Francis Bollard (1863-1927), Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington, New Zealand. The album is dated 31st August 1926. The fifty gelatin silver prints show images including: Hongi
, Ma¯ori Chief, Ma¯ori Guide at Rotorua, Queen Street, Auckland, Wairua Falls, Waimangu Gyser, Baurenga Gyser, Ma¯ori Poi-dancers, Ma¯ori washing in a hot pool, Rotorua, plus other views on North and South Island.

Fifty gelatin silver prints, each ca. 150 x 195 mm, mounted to album leaf rectos with printed captions pasted to mounts beneath and two photographs, loosely inserted, signed Leslie Hinge.
