Scope and Contents
Scripts for talks given on Radio 1ZJ, Station of the Christian Social Order owned and operated by Johns Ltd and broadcasting from Johns Buildings, Chancery St, Auckland. 1ZJ operated from November 1930 until December 1938, broadcasting on Monday’s from 12 noon to 2pm in the afternoon and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30pm. The folders contain copies of programmes for evening broadcasts and drafts and final scripts for radio presentations, including those given by Beckerleg as The Economist
and some by The Medico
.
The scripts were received tied together in bundles with labelled file covers. Due to their size, some of these bundles some have been split into smaller more manageable units. The original roughly chronological order of the bundles has been retained.
