Papers of Winifred Macdonald.
Scope and Contents
Winifred Macdonald joined the NZFUW in 1927. She attended the IFUW Council Meetings in Prague in 1930, Menaggio in 1952 and the Triennial Conference in Paris in 1956 where she was elected to serve as a member of the IFUW Cultural Relations Committee. Winifred Macdonald served two three year terms as a member of the Cultural Relations Committee, however as she was unable to travel to many of the committee meetings much of her work as a committee member was done by correspondence. Winifred was also the NZFUW Dominion President from 1953 to 1956 and the National CIR convenor from 1964 to 1967. She was made a Member Emerita in 1964 and wrote the history of the Federation - Footprints of Kate Edger in 1982. The records listed below relate primarily to Winifred’s work as a member of the IFUW Cultural Relations Committee although there are other files, particularly in Series 10 and 11 which also document her association with the Federation.
