Scope and Contents
Most work appears to have gone into the biographical part of the history project. Two series of notes and documents were created, Alpha and Beta. It is no longer clear what distinguished the Alpha Series from the Beta Series. Page 1 of the binder for each is headed The Solomon Islands Western District History Project 1975-
. Nor is it clear how the transcripts of taped interviews, the exercise books, or the residue of unsorted biographical notes and essays fitted with either series. The material has been left as found, and placed in permanent folders with an explanatory note on each. The final item is the MSS of Ti-e varani, 1981 (see bibliography of published works above).
