Contains original letters of J.R. Metcalfe and members of his family. Includes copy of A.E. Stanford’s diary of his trip to the Solomons in 1928 (Stanford was Ivy Metcalfe’s father); and copies of J.R. Metcalfe material from the Pacific Manuscripts Bureau; statement, dated 14 August 1979, from Elizabeth Corben (daughter of Metcalfe) giving G.G. Carter permission to edit and publish papers of Metcalfe concerning people and events in the Solomon Islands.
