These papers were collected by JR as a result of the Government's appeal prior to the 1940 Centennial, for the public to make available old family papers for research. All are transcripts, with the exception of a few originals in the Miscellaneous section. The originals of the Isaac Shepherd papers were also donated to the University Library through JR (Manuscripts and Archives Collection A-47).
