A transcript made by Professor Bruce Biggs of portions of vols. 6 and 7 of W.G. Mair's Native Land Court Notebooks, 1883-91, concerning the Rohe Pootae case, a contest for ownership of a block of land in the King Country by five tribes. During the late 1940s Professor Rodwell and Mr Bruce G. Hardie, of the Economics Department, Auckland University College, intended to write a history of James Busby. In 1948 Miss Agnes Busby made family papers available to them for their research. Some of the papers in this collection are, presumably, copies of that material; and there are copies of other material relating to early New Zealand history. The book was never published.
