A collection of minutes, correspondence and working papers, collected by Rutherford who was a member. (b) Clendon, James Reddy, 1801-72. Papers, 1840-72. 30 items. Includes Clendon's census of the Bay of Islands district, 1846. Transcribed by Rutherford from originals now in the Auckland Public Library. (c) Dillon, Constantine A., 1813-53. Letters, 1843-9, to his mother and sister describing events in the Nelson settlement, notably the Wairau massacre, 1843. 11 items. Transcript (typewritten). (d) Hobbs, John, 1800-83. Papers, 1824-1900. 70 items. Mainly letters between missionaries and the Wesleyan Missionary Society. Transcripts by Rutherford of the originals in the possession (1937) of Mrs A.W.B. Powell, Auckland. (e) Mair, Gilbert, 1799-1857. Papers, 1839-57. Papers, 1839-74. 100 items. Transcripts by Rutherford of originals in the possession (1938) of Mr G. Mair, Torbay, Auckland. (f) Russell, Andrew H. Expedition chiefly by canoe and foot from Auckland to the Hot Lakes, Pink Terraces and Lake Taupo in the year 1850. 48 leaves.
