Minute by Ministers [on the position of the Colony at the date of the arrival of Sir George Grey] 8 October 1861. Extracted from: AJHR, 1862. Typescript (carbon copy) 9 pages.
Scope and Contents
These transcripts and notes from Colonial Office papers relating to New Zealand cover the period 1830-1868. The despatches have not been listed fully here, as Rutherford's own List of principal despatches, etc. in Colonial Office archives at Public Record Office, relating to New Zealand
is comprehensive and occurs several times in Box 14. Names of the correspondents have not been listed in the index of this inventory. Box 17 contains notes on Grey and other subjects made from archives other than those at the Colonial Office, but as they were originally included in this series, they have not been removed.
