Membership lists (9)., 1964 - 1969

The earliest names, 13, associated with the League of New Zealand Penwomen Inc. (later Penwomen's Club) appear on the application for incorporation, a copy of which is to be found in Item 134 of this collection. A further list appears on an illuminated scroll presented to Mrs Edna Macky (see Item 135). The scroll bears no official date, but was casually and apparently erroneously dated 1923 by Mrs Macky, see note by Kathleen Grattan on the founding of the Club (Item 139).

Item 100, Roll of Members, an alphabetical address book, gives enrolment dates beside some entries. Item 118 provides biographical notes on some early members and lists members from 1925-1960 but not comprehensively. The compiler of these lists is not identified. Minutes of the Literature Study Circle provide names from 1943.

Applications for membership cover years 1944-1983 and probably provide better guidance in tracing members than rolls. Membership cards in Items 119 and 120 give enrolment dates and dates of resignation or death, but not in every case.
