Scope and Contents
Papers related to the production of the Tokelau Dictionary, published by the Office of Tokelau Affairs in 1986. The Dictionary was a collaborative project involving Tokelauans, the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the staff of the University of Auckland including Antony Hooper, Robin Hooper, Ropati Simona and Judith Huntsman.
This series contains drafts of the Dictionary and correspondence relating to the project. Earlier Tokelauan vocabularies including the preliminary Tokelau- English dictionary produced by Hosea Kirifi and J.H. Webster in 1975 are also included.
