Scope and Contents
Manuscript of 'Report on Survey of Traditional Music of Tokelau' by Allan Thomas, an interim report of the survey conducted by Thomas in 1986 as part of a 'Territorial Survey of Oceanic Music' funded jointly by UNESCO, The Institute of Polynesian Studies (Hawai'i) and the University of Auckland. The report is intended to describe the project and present a preliminary outline of the findings. Includes an introduction, history and scope of research, description of various Tokelau music and dance forms, recording index, transcripts and translations. File includes two copies.
