Identifier: AMPS 2022/88. Series 1. File 1/4

Scope and Contents

A series of Fatele performed by the Amelika Dance Group of approximately 45 men and women, at the Woman's Committee House in Nukunonu, Tokelau. Video recording was also made of these Fatele performances, see item 1/11.

These Fatele were rehearsed in preparation for The Feast of Christ the King, the festival of the Amelika faitu. Some of the fatele were in preparation for the coming festival, other were repeated from the previous festivals as they had not been adequately recorded. The idea for the recording developed through attendance at many rehearsals over the weeks in Nukunonu. The group was directed by Ioane Tumua and Kotelano Kelo. For more information see documentation in item [boxed collection].
