Content Description
The collection contains printed materials relating the Maryan Street’s trade union activities during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Street was Vice-President of the Auckland District Council of Trade Unions (CTU) between 1987 and 1990 and was an active member of the CTU Women’s and Education Committees. She also served as Chair of the Auckland Steering Committee of the Trade Union Education Authority (TUEA) and was a member of the Trade Union Education Taskforce. In 1990 Street became the Director of the University of Auckland’s Centre for Labour Studies where she attended two Workplace Reform conferences. The papers comprise Street’s personal copies of meeting agendas and minutes, along with related correspondence, publications and conference proceedings. Street’s own filing system and folder titles have been retained as far as practicable for creating the series structure for this collection.
