(1) Indenture made on the 15 December, 1875, in which S.S. Foster of Apia, Samoa, pledges a parcel of land called "Altupotoi", situated on the north side of Pago - pago (sic) Bay, Tutuila, to Moses David of Apia, as security for the repayment of the sum of $1,000 by the 1 December, 1876, according to the tenor of a promissory note made by S.S. Foster in favour of Moses David. (2) Power of Attorney made at Apia, Samoa, on the 15 November, 1879, by Antonia Sobreno of Apia appointing Charles Frederick Coventry of Tonga his attorney to conduct and manage his business as an inn-keeper at Nuku'alofa, Tonga., 1876-1879

(b) unless otherwise indicated the titles "Deputy Commissioner", "Agent", "Consul" and "Vice-Consul", refer to the British Deputy Commissioner, Agent, etc., Nuku'alofa, Tonga. Similarly the titles "Secretary of State" and "High Commissioner and Consul-General" refer to the Secretary of State for the Colonies and H.B.M's High Commissioner and Consul-General" for the Western Pacific.
