This series contains 16 notebooks dating from between 1873 and 1908 containing field notes and one exercise book containing a list of photographs. The notebooks have been arranged in roughly chronological order and an indication of the area covered by each given in the file title. Many of the field notebooks contain numbers which seem to relate to geological samples collected by Thomas while in the field.
