Scope and Contents The earliest item in this collection is a minute book, 1957-60, headed Meetings called by the Society of Friends, Auckland, to decide upon an organisation for dealing with H-bomb protests. The organisation becomes the Movement Against Further Testing, Manufacture and Use of Nuclear Weapons. Scope and Contents

The majority of the papers relate to Northey's activities in the Labour Government 1984-90 and include papers of select committees, caucus committees, and correspondence with constituents. Associated material relates to non-parliamentary activities including membership of CND, CARE, the New Zealand Labour Party, the Auckland City Council, and as Auckland Regional Advisory Officer for the Department of Internal Affairs.
