Scope and Contents

A detailed map of the Hokianga area with handwritten annotations relating to the geology of the area. The annotations which include references to geological samples noted as being in the 'AUC' (Auckland University College) geology collection appear to be in John Bartrum's handwriting. The 1220mm wide map is made up a mosaic of large scale topographical maps printed on paper and glued onto a linen backing. The map has wooden rails top and bottom.

Scope and Contents This collection contains field notebooks, papers and reports and photographs relating to the life and work of John Bartrum. The field notebooks cover the period 1907 to 1940. Some of the notebooks are a combination of personal diary and field notebook, and describe Bartrum's participation in rugby matches and other social events in addition to details of his survey work.The papers and reports in this collection are primarily typescripts and manuscripts. Scope and Contents This collection comprises field notebooks, lecture and laboratory notes and related material dating from 1873 to 1914, the majority of which was created by Thomas while employed at Auckland University College. Collection comprises two notebooks created by Professor Algernon Thomas containing observations on parasites and on molluscs.
