The Mahele book of King Kamehameha III recording the 1848 division of lands in the Hawaiian kingdom between the king and the chiefs, known as the "Great Mahele". In a second stage, the chiefs divided their lands amongst their tenants and by 1850 land was made available to foreigners. Includes index. Photocopy
