The collection covers the period 1985 – 1991 and includes minutes, correspondence and some financial records. The records were created by the national, New Plymouth based, office of the IHC Staff Association and its successor, the Community Services Union. The records were part of a larger mixed donation of records containing material from a number of Unions which amalgamated with the Service Workers' during the 1990s.

Scope and Contents The bulk of the files in this collection were donated to the Library by the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, P.O. Box 6645, Wellington, in May 1996 (through Denise O’Reilly). They included minutes of meetings of the Auckland District Council, and of its Executive, from 1987 to 1993. A set of ‘loose minutes’ of the same body had been received from Mr Ken Johnson of the Nurses Union through Bert Roth in 1993.
