Allen Curnow literary manuscript.

The manuscript consists of two poems by Curnow, "Discovery" and "The Navigators". "The Navigators" is untitled and the text is different from the published version. Both poems were published in Curnow's 'A small room with large windows: selected poems'. London, Oxford University Press, 1962

Collection includes papers relating to the Samoa Shipping & Trading Company and Allen family history. The collection relates primarily to the liquidation of the shipping company after the death of Captain E.F. Allen in 1924. It would appear that material in the collection was collated by Captain E.F. Allen's son Robert Houghton Allen who served in the Australian Imperial Forces during the First World War. Robert Allen died in New Zealand in 1972.
