Scope and Contents
I. Confidential correspondence files relating to Pitcairn and Tonga, 1–100 series. 1942 – 1954. (1937 – 1951). II. Secret correspondence files relating to Pitcairn and Tonga, 1–100 series 1942 – 1954. (1929 – 1952).
When the Western Pacific High Commission was transferred from Suva to Honiara in 1952 the classified files covered by this list were transferred to the Pitcairn and Tonga Office in Suva which had been established to take over the administration of British relations with Pitcairn and Tonga from the WPHC.These records were subsequently transferred to archival custody in the former Central Archives of Fiji and the Western Pacific High Commission. When this Archives was abolished in October 1970 they were transferred to the newly established Western Pacific Archives, an agency of the Western Pacific High Commission. They are registered under the WPHC 1–100 series which is also represented in the following WPA lists:

Custodial History
These records were once part of the holdings of the Central Archives of Fiji and the Western Pacific in Suva, Fiji, which became the Western Pacific Archives (WPA) in 1970. The WPA closed in 1978 and remaining archival collections were transferred to United Kingdom where they were stored by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, at Hanslope Park near Milton Keynes, until 2002.

Transferred to the University of Auckland by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office in October 2002.
