Includes research notes on Polynesian Methodist missionaries, biographical essays on Solomon Islanders, and notes on Solomon Island languages. Series 3 contains some significant original material gathered by Carter as part of his research: a translation of the diary of Ishmael Ngatu; papers of the Reverend John R. Metcalfe; and a diary of A.E. Stanford.
