This collection of records of the Hawke' Bay Division of the New Zealand Legion was donated to the Auckland University Library in 1969 by Mr Michael Pugh, who used it extensively in the writing of his MA thesis The New Zealand Legion and conservative protest in the Great Depression (1969). They are the papers referred to in the thesis as having been acquired from Mr J. Nelson, Havelock North, a former member of the Legion. The papers include...
