Kenneth Cumberland further papers.
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of material left in the Department of Geography by Professor Kenneth Cumberland when he retired in 1978. Among the papers are files of correspondence, drafts and typescripts, offprints, and photographs collected by Cumberland for publication purposes.
The records were found in the Geography Department store room by the Records Management Programme Manager in 2012, accompanied by a note to Warren Moran stating "These are some bits and pieces of K.B. Cumberland that have been lurking in my office since occupation".
A number of the files received had original Auckland University College file covers and file numbers, these have been placed in a separate series from the unnumbered files and their original file numbers noted in the inventory. The unnumbered files have been arranged separately in a roughly chronological order. The large quantity of photographic material received with these papers appears to have been accumulated by Cumberland for use in his publications, although only some of the material appears to have been used for this purpose. The material has been arranged into three subseries: Photographs assigned to specific publications, Photographs not assigned to specific publications and Other photographs.
