Registers, returns, certificates, list books

Registers, returns and certificates, and list books for the British Admiralty, 1673-1893. These contain monthly lists which provide a record of ships on foreign and home stations and engaged in particular types of service. These lists are divided into sections, and entries are arranged under such headings as East Indies, South America, Pacific, China, Australia, Convoys and cruisers, surveying service, particular service, ordered home and troop ships. Other information given in theses lists includes the names of the commanding officers of the ships, the number of men on board, the number of guns on board, and data relating to the size and power of the ships.
