Scope and Contents
Log books and Captains' logs of various ships of the British Navy, namely the Furnace, Gorgon, Gloucester, Hyaena, Fox, Intrepid, Chatham, Hindostan, Blonde, Adventure, Assistant, Discovery, Resolution, Dolphin, Endeavour, Providence, and Swallow. These log books and journals were kept by various crew members on voyages to the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. In addition to the usual details about weather and the ships' movements, these records often contain personal comments of the writers on the voyages and the ports of call. 26 microfilm reels.
