Administrative History
Previous name: Tamaki Inter-Branch Council (changed 1972, see minutes of 30 Aug 1972). Inter-Branch Councils of the NZ Labour Party were established in the 1950s and 1960s. In the Auckland area, there was a drive to replace these with more autonomous Labour Representation Councils at the electorate level. Reference: Gustafson, Barry.
