University of Auckland 125th Jubilee oral history recordings.
Scope and Contents
This project was initiated to coincide with the University of Auckland's 125th Jubilee in 2008. 16 interviewees were chosen based on their significant involvement with the administration of the University: Jock Brookfield, Michael (Mick) Brown, Dulcie McNaughton, Colin Maiden, Ray Meyer, Warren Moran, Warwick Nicoll, Charmian O'Connor, Anne Salmond, John Scott, Jack Sinclair, Barry Spicer, Nicholas Tarlin, Ranginui Walker, and Jack Woodward. The interviews were recorded by historian, Megan Hutching, between August 2008 and May 2009.
There are approximately 51 hours of recording. The interviews commence with biographical information, but concentrate on the interviewee's experience as students and researchers, and as employees of the University. The recordings were made on a Sound Devices 722 digital recorder, using 2 C417 AKG lapel microphones. Abstracts of all recordings are available.
