Scope and Contents
Unprocessed collection which includes notebooks and drafts of Loney’s literary works including Swell (1987), Missing parts: poems 1977-1990 (1992), The erasure tapes (1994), Envoy (1996), Printing of a masterpiece (1999), The falling: a memoir (1999), The love songs of Miss Katie King (2001) and An interview with Graham Lindsay
(2000).
Also includes some correspondence, drafts of reviews, essays, articles, an number of 'abandoned projects' and the playscript of ‘Dance Boy, For Rain’ performed at the Globe Theatre, Dunedin, 1971-72.

The material in this collection was purchased from Alan Loney over a number of years and and originally catalogued as MSS & Archives Vault 110, Vault 132, Vault 157 and Vault 169. In 2021 a decision was made to bring the material together in one collection.
