A typescript, with manuscript annotations, of "The Needlewomen: a play in three acts." The historical basis for the play was reports in the Auckland press in the 1850s of an action brought against the captain of the barque "Stately" by some indentured seamstresses, for mistreatment during the voyage to Auckland.
