Biographical / Historical

The New Zealand Tramways and Public Passenger Transpoty Authorities Employees Industrial Union of Workers was first registered in 1939 with branches in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. The Union covers those employed by regional authorities (or former regional authorities) to provide bus transport systems.

The current union known by the shorter title of the New Zealand Tramways and Public Transport Employees Union is affiliated with the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions.
