Grace Burgess collection of papers related to Eileen Duggan.
Scope and Contents
The collection has been tentatively arranged into two series: Series A consisting of items belonging to or associated with Eileen Duggan (1894-1972), and Series B consisting of Grace Burgess' research material for her biography of Duggan "A gentle poet : Eileen Duggan, O.B.E.", Carterton, 1981. The collection also includes copies of published poetry books signed and inscribed by Eileen Duggan.

Biographical / Historical
Grace Mary Burgess (1911 -2005), was a long time personal friend of Elieen Duggan. In 1981she wrote and published a short memoir on the life of the poet titled; A gentle poet: a portrait of Eileen Duggan OBE.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The bulk of the collection was donated by Grace Burgess, per Michele Leggott, English Department in November 1994 while the books of poems by Eileen Duggan were bequeathed to the Library by Grace Burgess in September 2005.
