Content Description
Collection of 37 oral history recordings completed between 1994 and 2009 with members of the Auckland College of Education's alumni organisation the Old A's. The oral history project was coordinated for the alumni assocation by Judy Baird. Each recording is accompanied by an abstract, transcript and release form.

Biographical / Historical
Participants in the oral history attended the Auckland College of Education in the middle deacdes of the twentieth-century when it was known as Auckland Teachers' College. The interviewees recount their memories of attending the Epsom-based college as trainee school teachers and then their subsequent teaching careers. Several particpants were also employed by the college as lecturers and administrators. The college was first established in 1881; in 1984 it was renamed the Auckland College of Education and in 2004 merged with the University of Auckland forming a new Faculty of Education.
