Biographical / Historical

Kurt Samuel Kreielsheimer (1903-1980) physisist and engineer. A German Jew, Kreielsheimer arrived in Auckland during the 1930s escaping Nazi Germany while on a expedition to Norway in 1934. He was Associate Professor of Physics at Auckland University College from 1945-1968. During the Second World War Kreielsheimer was involved in research undertaken by the University into the problems of radio propagation in jungle conditions.
