Scope and Contents
The collection consists of papers of the New Zealand Labour Party Auckland Regional Council from May 1973 to 1979 (with gaps); policy material for the New Zealand Labour Party general election campaign in 1975 and local body election campaign papers for 1974. The material in this collection was collated by Dr John Prebble who served as a member of the New Zealand Labour Party Auckland Regional Council Committee from 1973 to 1978 and in 1974 stood as a Labour Party candidate for the Auckland City Council.

Biographical / Historical
John Prebble, was born in 1944 in Horsham, England and moved to New Zealand in 1948. Prebble graduated from Auckland University with a BA in 1965 and an LLB (hons) in 1967. He was a Senior Lecturer in Law at The University of Auckland from 1975 to 1980 and then at Victoria University Wellington where he has been a Professor since 1987. His areas of expertise include tax law and policy, international and domestic and electoral law.
