Aldis family papers.
Scope and Contents
Collection comprises a printed copy of a lecture 'On the mechanical description of a straight line by means of link-work' presented by William Steadman Aldis to the Auckland Institute, 22 October 1888. In addtion there is a photocopy of a letter from Aldis to his recently married niece Marian Goodman dated 31 December 1902. The letter is accompanied by photocopies of the covers of two other offprints of articles by Aldis which were given by Aldis to his niece and are annotated to that effect.
The original letter was photocopied by the donor by his great aunt in the 1970s, the location of the original is no longer known.
