Department of Political Studies and Professional, 1952 - 2001
Scope and Contents
Includes a wide range of material about Chapman’s academic career including correspondence, circulars, memoranda, annual reports and records of the University Senate’s Audio-Visual Committee, which he chaired from its establishment. Some personal correspondence was retained here if obviously created and filed that way by RMC, otherwise it forms part of the Correspondence series in the Personal Papers.
Chapman was widely consulted because of his professional reputation, and correspondence of this nature, although not directly related to University matters, was retained here as it he had filed it. Similarly, files relating to departmental matters and social events have been retained here as Chapman had the status of Emeritus Professor, and retained strong links with the Department following his retirement in 1988.
