Content Description

From the Collection:

Collection contains Professor Manying Ip’s research working papers from the 1990s and early 2000s. Many of the materials were accumulated while she was researching, and then writing, journal articles and books on the histories of the Chinese communities in Aotearoa New Zealand. Where possible the series titles have been created to match specific publications; however, there is some overlap. Professor Ip's folder titles have been retained in many instances. The collection includes photocopies of original materials sourced from New Zealand archives and libraries. Hence some of the creation dates relate to the original publication date not the date they were sourced by Professor Ip. Other materials include correspondence with publishers and other academics, extensive newspaper clippings, conference proceedings and exhibition epehemera, and many original photographs given to Professor Ip by Chinese New Zealand families who assisted her with her research.
