Scope and Contents
Single leaf from a French Book of hours. Text from Psalm 51 (LXX 50), verse 11 to verse 19. Text begins with "et omnes iniquitates meas dele…" and ending with "…contribulatus cor contritum et humili-[atum]…".
This is the text Allegri set to Miserere mei, Domine.
Page contains marginalia written in French dating between 1733-1747. The writer/s record the deaths of various individuals and asks God to have mercy on them. Psalm 51 is one of the seven penitential psalms, which also features in the Offices of the Dead.
