Social and literary ephemera. Chiefly programmes of plays, poetry readings, music recitals etc. Loose in box. , n.d.
Scope and Contents
The bulk of the collection was gathered together following an appeal by Professor Keith Sinclair, in the Apr 1961 issue of the University of Auckland gazette, to supply material relevant to the University's history. Readers were invited to send in reminiscences of conditions in the College, past academic battles, frank
. character sketches
of staff or councillors, old newspaper clippings or copies of correspondence
The Library annual report for 1961 also records: In April an appeal was begun for memoirs of past students and others associated with the University, either written or recorded verbally on tape, and any other material that would help a future historian of the institution. Since then we have received 9 sets of reminiscences, newspaper extracts, photographs, capping books, minute books and promises of more to come.
