Nicholas, Henry. Letter, 8 Dec 1898, Rarotonga, to F.J. Moss [Auckland]. Complains of the new administration and reports native claims that M. was a thief. Gudgeon has nullified fines imposed by M. Mentions Makea Daniela, who now regrets taking M's advice to remain as paymaster. Makea Tane had made a speech denouncing M. and the London Missionary Society has commented on the ineptitude of the natives to manage their own affairs. Holograph signed, 4pp., 1898 - 1898

The papers appear to have been compiled by Moss' daughter Amy and they reflect the concern of the family to refute the accusations made against their father and to clear the name of Makea Daniela.
