Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This group, which is complementary to Series 7, consists of published works of Sir George, the majority of the items being versions of speeches or addresses printed in pamphlet form or as articles in periodicals. Only a minority appears to be written primarily for publication as articles. Other published works will be found in the Public Life Files, for example in the guard book Speeches (3/18), as well as in the pamphlet collections of hte University and other libraries, and in New Zealand Parliamentary Debates. The subject content of the series relates to political, social, economic, or religious affairs. The nature of the components emphasises the fact that Fowlds's literary activity was almost wholly confined to speech-making rather than to writing.
