between January and March Clay travelled to North America, attending the 20th National Reading Recovery and Classroom Literacy Conference in Columbus, Ohio, where she was a keynote speaker. Later in the year she took part in the University of Auckland, Centre for Continuing Education, Opera Tour to Sydney.
