Scope and Contents
In 1989 Clay was appointed Vice-President of the International Reading Association. Folder 1/9/3 contains papers relating to the nomination process, a letter confirming her appointment and congratulation letters and cards from friends and colleagues. Clay was also granted Honorary Life Membership of the Auckland Reading Association.
Clay travelled to the USA, Australia, the UK and France. In France she attended a UNESCO international meeting of experts (category VI) on developing integrated services for early childhood care and education. Folder 1/9/2 contains a draft report of the meeting and a letter thanking Clay for her involvement can be found in folder 1/9/3.
